Crooked River State Park for Christmas!

It's that time of year again! Crooked River for Christmas.

We arrived on a misty, cool Friday night and got set up on Site 18.

We'd brought a club and balls so first thing we did was hit the mini-golf course.

We had an early dinner and fire to rest up for the festivities the next day - a trip into St Mary's, a hay ride and visit with Santa!

The morning was cool but the day soon warmed up - it was clear and beautiful.

I was having trouble with the propane connection so I cooked my toast outside over a hiking burner.

We drove into town for the Saturday morning farmers market, to visit some shops and hang out in the waterfront park.

Once we made it back to the campground we did some coloring - 2017 calendars from the Dollar Tree!

Finally, it was time. We headed to Crooked River's new meeting facility (they rent it for gatherings, weddings etc.)

And the best part....Santa!

Crooked River State Park

Last year at Crooked River was such a blast over Christmas that my daughter and I decided to go back.

One weekend before Christmas they have pictures with Santa, crafts, a hayride and more (such as a live animal show.) It's a clean, well maintained park that's close to the little town of St Mary's, Georgia. It's got a few shops and a few restaurants and a beautiful park on the water. There's also a historic home you can tour for a few dollars.

The park offers camping, hiking, miniature golf, biking, a boat ramp and tons of playgrounds for kids.

Here's where I got a hole in one.

The weather was gorgeous so we did some art work outside.

Santa was ready to watch the fire.

Rangers came around to tell us about the live animal show!

Trip to Crooked River State Park!

December 17, 2014
My T@B Trailer. #394, built in 2004 (rebuilt by me in 2011.)
Crooked River State Park is a quiet, family oriented, Georgia park. Over Christmas they had lots of activities for kids such as a hay ride, crafts and a bonfire!

We spent the day in St Mary's Georgia, visiting the small farmers market and the beautiful coastline village with a view of Cumberland Island.  The weather was absolutely perfect!

During the day, after touring one of the beautiful historic homes in the area, we dined at the Riverside Café - interestingly, a Greek restaurant. The food is fresh and their dressings are homemade. I highly suggest checking it out.
